We have a brand new look at The Last of Us Part II in an extended gameplay sequence shown off during this mornings State of Play.
The event had director, Neil Druckman explain several elements of the game before the roughly 8-minute clip of never before gameplay was shown off.
It’s all combat, so there are no spoilers and you can check out the full video below.

For the most part, the State of Play seems to follow up on details we already knew or had assumed to be true. These included Ellie’s age in the game, which is 19, and the fact she can now traverse with jumping, rope swinging and yes, she can even swim.
The biggest piece of news may play into the reveal of a multiplayer component (if that truly does happen down the road) as the factions inside The Last of Us Part II were fully explained.
The Washington Liberation Front (WLF) originally fought and overtook Seattle from the military occupation. They now look to hold that control against any outsiders.
Seraphites are a religious cult who cut symbols into their body and use stealth to their advantage.
Between both of these groups, there’s Ellie and the infected, of course.
In I’m sure what will be a meme for some time the 8-minute gameplay demo showed Ellie killing a character who was playing a PS Vita. Yes, Sony’s little handheld that would exist on TLoU universe. To make things even better the character was very obviously playing Hotline Miami.
I’d like to say you can look forward to our review soon, but unfortunately, we do not have our hands on the game. However, you can look forward to other reviews dropping on Friday the 12th of June at 5:00 PM.
