After years of crazy escapades with Nina Struthers and company across multiple showcases which exponentially got crazier and crazier, potentially to the point of no return, Devolver Digital have pivoted and this year decided to bring back a figure from their past to be the focus of this year’s Devolver Direct.
Volvy, the beloved video game mascot from games like Field Run, Volvy Jumping Day and Volvy Vasectomy, is back in this digital showcase. After a short retrospective of the character, for those new to video games, the new rebooted version of Volvy is revealed: Volv-e, an AI robot with the capacity to create “generate brand new, fully playable games based on simple prompts from the player.”
