Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that a brand new animated series, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, will premiere on April 6.

The series follows Maul as he works to rebuild his criminal syndicate, seeking a way to make it survive and thrive in a place beyond the empire’s reach. He is also coming across the path of a young, on-the-run Jedi Padawan, who it looks like he’ll be able to twist and make into his own apprentice.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord comes from Dave Filoni and is developed by him and Matt Michnovetz. The voice cast has Sam Witwer returning as Maul, and he is joined by  Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David C. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.

The series will release two episodes each week starting April 6, and the final two episodes will air on the annual Star Wars Celebration day, May 4.

We’ll be discussing Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord each week on the ‘Holocron Entries’ podcast feed, so make sure you subscribe to that now to get the episodes.
