Dr.One | PAX Australia 2026 Preview

Dr.One's demo at PAX Aus 2026 showcased engaging drone mechanics, impactful visuals, and enjoyable gameplay.

Dr.One was an interesting title that had me behind the controls of a drone for roughly ten minutes at PAX Aus 2026. The demo started with me following a vehicle as I got used to the controls. I then infiltrated a warehouse, gathered some intel and then had to blast away from some aggressive drones to safety. It was quite the fun little snapshot of what looks to be a fun game.

Flying was initially tricky, and I had some issues; after speaking with the maker, he suggested changing the flight controls from inverted and that fixed the issue fast. I was still a little iffy on the controls, but that was more due to my lack of drone flying experience. I found it the same as when I have flown them in real life, so the one-to-one conversion was accurate from what I experienced. It also felt quite similar to the drones in Battlefield six.

The visuals of the game were basic but matched the sandbox feel of the game. Markers are easy to identify on the stages, which quickly helped me know where to go. The world was great to manoeuvre through; managing the drone’s thrust played a big part in making that possible. The demo gave me ample opportunities to test my skills, the thrust and the different speeds.

I had a great chat with the developer of the game about radio-controlled vehicles and drones. As someone who has recently gotten into RC, it was fun to discuss our shared hobby and interest during my play. Despite the initial learning curve, the demo displayed the game well and was straight onto the Wishlist.

Dr.One is available to be wishlisted on Steam; However, no release date has been announced.
