Square Enix has announced the release date of Dragon Quest 1 & II HD-2D Remake for October 30, 2025.

Following on from the success of last year’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, this next collection will bring the first two games in the Dragon Quest series. These two games take place chronologically after the events of the DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake, and these games will wrap up the ‘Erdrick Trilogy.’

As with the first remaster, this remake will feature new HD-2D graphics, a refined battle system, and several quality-of-life updates. Additional content will also be needed for these games, which Square Enix has said it’ll reveal at a later time.

If you didn’t pick up the first HD-2D remake, there will also be a release of the ‘DRAGON QUEST HD-2D Erdrick Trilogy Collection,’ which will package all three of the games together.

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake will be released on October 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
