EA Play 2020 was hosted once again by Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller this year and featured at the top end our first look at Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay. The event also announced several new games, most notably Josef Fares’, of A Way Out fame.
Here are all the trailers and announcements from EA Play Live 2020.
Apex Legends
We got several new announcements for Apex Legends but the biggest takeaway was that the game is getting cross-play support and a Nintendo Switch release sometime soon. We also got details on the next big event, ‘Lost Treasures’ which begins on June 23rd.

Star Wars Squadrons
The big one for the show this year was the gameplay reveal for Star Wars Squadrons. They reiterated details we wrote about following the trailer earlier in the week like cross-play, full VR support and the October 2nd release date before diving into a gameplay trailer.
In the campaign, you’ll play both the New Republic as Vanguard Squadron and the Imperials as Titan Squadron. The trailer also featured Rae Sloane and Hera Syndulla, so Star Wars extended universe dorks like me are very excited.
The multiplayer is obviously a big focus on this game. It’s being designed with several phases including a HUB are you and your teammates can play your attack from. The Dogfight mode sounds like deathmatch and then the Fleet Battles will be the marque multiplayer mode with more depth, phases similar to Battlefront II modes and more cinematic flair and narrative built into the match.

Next-Gen Sizzle Reel
A look at several upcoming games from EA studios. These included what is presumably the next Dragon Age, Battlefield and Need For Speed games.
Skate
The final reveal was that another Skate game is indeed in development. No gameplay was revealed, or even a proper name for the fourth Skate game. Fans — like myself — are sure to be very excited with at least knowing it’s in development.
