EA Sports has announced a new update for EA SPORTS FC 26 and EA SPORTS FC Mobile that brings international football front and centre with a brand-new tournament mode called ‘The World’s Game.’
Launching on June 4, the update adds a 48-team international tournament to FC 26, allowing players to take one of 53 licensed national teams through a full group stage and knockout competition.
Some of the nations included are Australia, England, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay and the United States.
Alongside the new tournament mode, FC 26 is adding several new stadiums, including Gillette Stadium, BMO Field, and a brand-new venue called Central Maw, designed to evoke the atmosphere of international football.
FC Mobile is also getting its own version of The World’s Game, though it’s focused solely on the knockout stages, with players able to customise their own Round of 16 bracket.
Outside of the new tournament mode, players can also play international matches in Kick Off with more than 50 licensed nations. Football Ultimate Team is set to receive Festival of Football-themed content and a dedicated Event Hub as part of the update as well.
