For the first time at Summer Game Fest, Australia and New Zealand have a big foot in the showcase, and the ability to note: it’s winter here, not Summer. And more importantly, we make lots of cool games here!
The games showcased in this show highlight the diverse range of genres and the creative industry in Australia and New Zealand. With the show kicking off with the oddity that is My Arms Are Longer Now, adding in the throw-back violence seen in Anticitizen: Red and finishing up with a new reveal of a fixed-horror mystery in Parasensor. There was a lot to love

My Arms Are Longer Now – Toot Games (Victoria)
A brand new trailer for My Arms Are Longer Now reveals that you can change the skin tone colour of your arms and how hairy they are in the game.

Mars First Logistics – Shape Shop (Victoria)
After its time in Early Access, Mars First Logistics is ready to leave Early Access and launch into version 1.0 on September 26.

A cutie new trailer for Letter to Aralla.

Toroa: Skycall – Atawhai Interactive (New Zealand)
You’re an albatross taking on a big tourney in this game, in which you’ll be gliding across the Pacific Ocean and meeting friends while on the journey.
Toroa: Skycall is set to release sometime in Spring this year.

Junklands – Deadleaf Games (Victoria)
This is a 3D action-platformer where you’re playing as ‘Rahr,’ who is fighting through a polluted world and must recycle your foes!

Bones: Wandering Soul – Studio Tinkerhaus (Victoria)
Be a little skelly-person in this puzzle-stealth game and sneak around the city and the living.

Matchmaker: Dungeon Heart – Ghost Moth (Victoria)
Everyone loves a new match-3 game, especially those with dating elements.

Nullstar: Solus – Smash Attack Studios (Tasmania)

This is an early look at a new architecture game where players will design various homes for clients.
Tea, Please! – Siobhan Willoughby (New South Wales)
This is a simple game about the mundanity of office life and how nice it is to make yourself (or others), a nice cup of tea.
BraveCart – Hojo Studio (New South Wales)
It’s a puzzle game that pits you against two different supermarket monopolies, which are definitely not Coles and Woolworths.

Anticitizen: Red – Queebly Software (New South Wales)
Here’s a new trailer for Anticitizen: Red, a throwback 90’s 90s-style action game that was part of the PAX Indie Showcase last year.

Key Fairy – Owl Machine (Queensland)
Featuring some stunning black-and-white art and some heavy bass in the trailer, this is a hand-drawn pacifist bullet hell, and there’s a demo available now on Steam for us all to try out.

Finely Diced – Yuriosity Games (Victoria)
Continuing with genre mash-ups, here’s Finely Diced, which takes some Iron Chef inspirations and combines them into a tournament roguelike. And there’s a demo to try now on Steam if you want to get hands-on.

REAPRIEVE – 10PM Club (Victoria)
It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Reaprieve, and now here’s a look at the game again, with the new trailer teasing big things to come, including the updated art and more.

CORPOREAL – Cold Out Interactive (New Zealand)
I remember seeing Corporeal tested last year around October, but I don’t recall if it was just on social media or some showcase. Nonetheless, here’s a new trailer showing the gameplay of digging through photos and documents to discover the truth behind a family photo.

A very freaky trailer showcasing the world of Apothecary of City X. A new game from Lemon Jolly Games and Anna Zou, lead writer of Hands of Fate 2.
Apothecary of City X will be released in Early Access in November 2025.

Winnie’s Hole – Twice Different (Victoria)
When the trailer starts, it may resemble Winnie the Pooh, but this is actually Winnie’s Hole, a game about exploring the insides of Winnie’s body, featuring puzzle elements and roguelike gameplay. And there’s a demo for you to try, and this weird and wonderful game on Steam now.
Winnie’s Hole is scheduled for release in 2025.

Slumbering Woods – Chunky Quail (Queensland)
This is a cosy hand-drawn game about crafting and exploration in which you must restore a long-forgotten village.

Isopod: A Webbed Spin-off – Sbug Games (Queensland)
A brand new trailer for Isopod: A Webbed Spin-Off has revealed that the 3D action platform will be released on October 21, 2025.

Soggy Beans – RATMODE (New Zealand)
Here’s a new trailer for the cozy and idle-like fish game Soggy Beans.

Tryhard – Grapefruit Games (New Zealand)
Dogs can play Rugy, and I think that’s a totally fair statement, and if anyone argues, well, maybe you shouldn’t be friends with them. I don’t understand Rugy, but I know dogs and for that, woof. This looks like a fun RPG.

Burger Bois – Mischief Makers Studio (New Zealand)
Here’s a new trailer for Burger Bois, a game in which you make burgers for customers, take pics, and talk to all sorts of customers to find out what’s best for them. We played this at PAX AUS last year, and it was a lot of fun.

Foodomina – Lumelli Studios (Victoria)
Mould comes for our heroes in this new trailer for Foodmania, an RPG with some cute pixel-art designs, and if you’re intrigued, there’s a demo out now on Steam.

This dog is such a menace, but I love him, and it’s because this dog doesn’t really care.

Microvania – Dreampunk (Australian Capital Territory)
Microvania is also coming to Nintendo Switch in addition to its previously announced PC release in 2025.

End of Ember – Bad Plan Studios (South Australia)
It’s classic “WTF am I watching?!” trailer but in all the good ways. It’s very gruesome but with fun and simple visuals that make it all seem okay that our character is in hell.

GHOST CAM – ARCH REBELS (Western Australia)
Our first VR game in the showcase, and in this one, Ghost Cam, you’re hunting for ghosts using a camcorder to find them and solve puzzles. And if you want to try it out, a demo is coming to Steam and Meta on June 13.

Your Holy & Virtuous Heretic – i will bite raw coffee beans (New South Wales)
The very occult-inspired and low-fi visuals and art direction of Your Holy & Virtuous Heretic only add to its vibes, and you can see all of that in its latest trailer.

Malys – Summerfall (Victoria)
The next game from Sumemrfall, the team behind Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, is a card-based roguelike, and it continues to look very intriguing.

Jupiter Junkworks – Pixel Drake (Victoria)
This is a junker-match-3 game where you’re using the resources earned by playing to upgrade your spaceship junkyard. The music in this trailer is also excellent and complements the game’s vibe. If you want to try it out yourself, a demo is available now on Steam.

Match & Mastery – FourFox Interactive – (New Zealand)
This is a match-3 game with an RPG combat twist. You’re battling monsters, and the better your matching gameplay, the better you’re doing against those creatures. If you’d like to try it out, a demo is now available on Steam.

Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar – Abandoned Sheep (Queensland)
Play as the ultimate cat burglar, Mittens, in this puzzle game where you’re trying to escape a research facility. And if you’d like to try out the game, a demo is now available on Steam.

SPiNG – SMG Studio (New South Wales)
Previously, this one-button game was exclusive to Apple Arcade, but now SPiNG, from SMG Studio, is making its way to Steam on June 18. There’s also a demo available now, if you can’t wait.

Misc. A Tiny Tale – Tinyware Games (Western Australia)
No humans are left, but there is all the rubbish they left behind, and so is the little robot that could; you’re working together with other robots to clean up the world.
