PlayStation held their much rumoured September State of Play Wednesday morning, and it had a focus on Japanese developers ahead of TGS 2022 this weekend. Not to say it was entirely Japanese focuses, as we did get a big God of War Ragnarok trailer to cap the show-off.
I’m sure there will be a lot of games like this releasing for PS VR2, but an enhanced edition of Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is coming to PS VR2 sometime next year.
This is Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin which was never released outside of Japan. It was initially released for PS3 in 2014 as a spin-off for the Yakuza series and now comes West next year, releasing in February 2023.
Revealed initially as ‘Project Eve’ at last year’s September State of Play (fitting) and now named Stellar Blade, this PS5 console exclusive is exclusively coming in 2023. Combat has previously been described as a mix between a Souls-like and something like God of War, and you can see that in the gameplay trailer.
God of War Ragnarok looks incredible in its first gameplay focuses trailer since the reveal. Atreus is keeping a secret, Kratos is along for the ride with his son, and at the end of the trailer, we see hammer vs axe as Kratos and the God of Thunder come head-to-head.
A limited edition God of War Ragnarok DualSense Controller is also coming for launch.
