Every announcement from Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, including Gears of War: E-Day, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Metro 2039 and The Witcher 3 Remastered.
Gamescom Opening Night Live returned for 2026, kicking off another massive week of gaming announcements from Cologne, Germany.
Hosted once again by Geoff Keighley, this year’s main show featured new game reveals, release dates and fresh looks at some of the biggest games heading our way, including Gears of War: E-Day, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Metro 2039 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered.
Here’s everything announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.
Nodusfall
Opening Night Live kicked off with a World Premiere from HoYoverse, revealing Nodusfall, which is a little different to their usual types of games as a co-op action RPG.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics
Ubisoft revealed Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, taking the franchise into turn-based tactical combat.
Gears of War: E-Day
A new campaign trailer for Gears of War: E-Day provided another look at the events of Emergence Day.
Gears of War: E-Day is set to release on October 6, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Ananta
The free-to-play open-world RPG Ananta returned with a substantial new gameplay trailer. It showed the player exploring two different cities, fighting enemies, roaming around in shopping trolleys, posing for selfies and more.
Ananta is set to release on January 15, 2027, for PlayStation 5, PC and mobile devices.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Konami showed another look at Silent Hill: Townfall, including the reveal of its cast.
Silent Hill: Townfall is set to release September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
Ahead of its release on August 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, we got a launch trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
Sea of Remnants
A new trailer was shown for Sea of Remnants.
Crimson Desert: Enhanced
Crimson Desert: Enhanced was revealed, introducing updates and post-launch content.
Tides of Annihilation
The Arthurian-inspired action game Tides of Annihilation returned with a new trailer, revealing that Angela Sant’Albano is voicing the protagonist.
Lofsöng
Unrelated Studio introduced Lofsöng, an artistic adventure set in a world where sound has become the only remaining language.
Mega Man: Dual Override
Capcom provided another fresh look at Mega Man: Dual Override, with this new trailer introducing ‘Twinkle Girl.’
Rayman Legends Retold
Rayman Legends Retold showed off one of the game’s musical stages featuring the ‘Macarena.’
Rayman Legends Retold is set to release on October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
PUBG: ded.net
A new game connected to the PUBG universe was revealed as PUBG: ded.net.
Control Resonant
Remedy Entertainment showcased a new trailer for Control: Resonant, featuring The Prodigy backing it.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
With the release rapidly approaching on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, The Blood of Dawnwalker has received its launch trailer.
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
The upcoming real-time strategy game Game of Thrones: War for Westeros received a new trailer. This one comes from Australian PlaySide Studio.
Dust: Origins
Dust: Origins received a new gameplay trailer showcasing its sci-fi setting and twin-stick action.
Exodus
Archetype Entertainment confirmed a release date for its sci-fi RPG Exodus.
The new footage included another look at its characters, combat and strange alien worlds, including a sentient octopus companion.
Release Date: April 7, 2027.
Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons
Wizards of the Coast provided a gameplay reveal for Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons.
The upcoming game places magic at the centre of the experience while emphasising exploration and player choice within the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
1001: Threads of Mizan
1001: Threads of Mizan was officially announced.
The reveal showcased a fantasy world filled with magic carpets, enormous enemies and large-scale encounters.
Silver Palace: House of Greed
A new trailer was shown for the anime-styled third-person action game Silver Palace: House of Greed, teasing upcoming content.
Metro 2039
The Metro series returned with a substantial new gameplay trailer for Metro 2039.
The footage showcased another grim journey through the post-apocalyptic Metro, complete with brutal combat, hostile environments and plenty of mutated horrors.
Hitman: World of Assassination
Agent 47 has another unusual celebrity target.
A new Hitman: World of Assassination collaboration will see players hunting down Snoop Dogg.
Aion 2
NCSoft showcased a new trailer for Aion 2.
Release Date: October 5, 2026.
Afterworld
Paradox Interactive revealed Afterworld, a new strategy game set within a post-apocalyptic world.
The game comes from the publisher behind Cities: Skylines and features a wasteland setting reminiscent of Mad Max.
Petit Planet
HoYoverse’s cozy galactic life sim, Petit Planet, received a new trailer.
Mewgenics
Mewgenics made an appearance through a live musical performance.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 received its launch trailer, showcasing more cooperative action.
1666: Amsterdam
1666: Amsterdam returned with another gameplay trailer, with the game’s Early Access available now.
Showa American Story
The bizarre world of alternative-history Showa American Story looks like a Like a Dragon game.
Road Kings
The open-road trucking adventure Road Kings received a new trailer.
Road Kings is set to release on March 11, 2027.
Stage Tour
The plastic instruments are back in Stage Tour, which will feature more than 90 songs.

The Defiant
A new trailer was shown for The Defiant, a first-person shooter set around the Great Wall of China.
Tarae: The Unbound
Tarae: The Unbound appeared during a rapid-fire trailer montage, showcasing Diablo-style combat and character abilities.
Like or Die
Like or Die received a new trailer showcasing its roster and character abilities.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
The new story trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Revelation heavily focused on the Weapons that Cloud and his companions will need to battle in the third and final chapter of this story.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered
CD Projekt Red made a surprise announcement: a free (if you already own the game) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered. The new update/version introduces improvements to visuals, combat, movement, and more.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will release on September 29, 2026.
The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past
Gamescom Opening Night Live closed with the full reveal of The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, which will be a last send-off for Geralt before the torch is officially passed to Ciri as the lead in The Witcher 4.
