PlayStation held a State of Play for September 2026, which featured the release date for Final Fantasy Revelation, the launch trailer and a look at Marvel’s Wolverine, the release date for Until Dawn 2, and much more, including some new game announcements that we’ll have to keep an eye on.
Here’s everything announced at the September 2026 State of Play.
Resident Evil Movie
We opened with a clip from the upcoming Resident Evil movie, which is in cinemas on September 17. It’s the moment from the trailer you may have seen where a bunch of zombies begin hurling themselves off roofs to get to Austin Abrams’ character on the street.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Of course, we had to take one last look at Wolverine ahead of its release on September 15.
Ghost of Yotei
We had already heard about the single-player content coming to Ghost of Yotei, but now we have some gameplay of the survival mode, which sees you taking on increasing challenges and upgrading along the way with different weapons and tools. You’ll also be able to play as multiple different characters from the game in this mode, including Atsu and others, including Jin from Ghost of Tsushima.
This DLC and the Complete Edition are coming on October 1.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
This is a new expansion coming to Monster Hunter Wilds , focused on a new constellation of islands to re-explore as you’re hunting for dragons.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is arriving in 2027.
Metro 2039
We saw some new footage from Metro 2039 at Gamescom last week, but now we have another look, this time, of course, focused on PS5 Pro captured gameplay, but also with some commentary gameplay giving some background to the narrative and the dark world you’ll be exploring in the game.
Metro 2039 is set to release on February 4, 2027.
Maneater 2
I really didn’t expect we’d get a sequel to Maneater, but here’s some more crazy shark action to be had. Chew humans, transform, fight sea creatures like a crab.
Crimson Desert
We got the reveal of Charting the Unknown DLC for Crimson Desert, which is s set to release on October 15, 2026.
LEGO
Details of a LEGO PlayStation have been circulating online for the past week, but it’s now officially been revealed. This is a unique LEGO design of the original PlayStation One console, featuring 1911 bricks. Different parts of the console open to reveal classic PS1 games like Ape Escape and Gran Turismo.
Final Fantasy Resonance
This new trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance showed off the first HD 2D Final Fantasy game, as well as revealing Sephirph, and that a demo is available to play now.
Final Fantasy Resonance is set to release on October 22.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
A trailer for Gundam Rogue Orbit showed what looks to be a narrative-focused Gundam adventure that’ll have all the mech-big-action fans of Gundam want.
Gundam Rogue Orbit is set to release on March 5, 2027.
Hunter’s Moon
This was a new reveal for a game titled Hunter’s Moon, which is a first-person historical folk horror. It’s right around the corner, just in time for Halloween, and looks very creepy.
Hunter’s Moon is set to release on October 26.
Uncanyon
This is a new puzzle game set in a forgotten world where you’ll be exploring the ‘Uncanyon’ and learning about it all at the same time.
Uncanyon is set to release sometime in 2027.
Keeper
With Double Fine now self-publishing again, as they’ve been let go by Xbox, they’re quick to work on getting some games to other platforms, it seems, with Keeper now available on PlayStation.
Rev.Noir
Konami showed off more of its big new JRPG project, which we first saw in a State of Play earlier in 2026. There seems to be some real-time action combat with some very cinematic and anime-inspired movesets and action happening, counterattacks, different movements and transformations all happening, with other characters fighting alongside the player character.
Rev.Noir is coming sometime in 2027.
Rhapsody in Scarlet
I thought this was RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven at first, but it’s a new game from Konami, where there’s a 50s setting, but then the singer is fighting summoned monsters. Intriguing!

Coming to the PS Plus Classic catalogue later in 2026 are Mega Man X: Command Mission, Dino Crisis 2 & Ratchet & Clank. And in 2027, Mycopunk.
Saros
An update to Saros is adding a bunch of new features in the ‘Zenith’ update coming later this year. Adding a New Game+ mode, as well as more features and accessibility options.
Gran Turismo 7
The ‘Spec IV’ update is currently scheduled for release in two parts: the first in October and the second in December, adding features such as the SUGO track in Japan and 12 new cars.
There was also a tease of things to come in 2027, with the 30th Anniversary of Gran Turismo.
Until Dawn 2
We haven’t seen anything from Until Dawn 2 since its initial reveal, and I’d nearly forgotten about it, but we finally have a brand new trailer showing the cast of characters dealing with a potential killer on the loose on an island while these YouTubers/Influencers are filming a supposed real ‘Survivor-like’ show.
And we have a release date now: Until Dawn 2 is arriving on January 28, 2027.
Grand Theft Auto VI Controllers
There are two limited-edition DualSense controllers on the way to help add to your full Grand Theft Auto VI experience.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
PlayStation revealed the release date trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which focused on the entire cast of characters in the game, their skills, and what is driving them to fight so hard and carry on.
After the release-date trailer, we also got about 10 minutes of new gameplay showing how much larger in scale this final entry in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is, with deeper combat, an open world using the Airwing, and more.
The funniest feature of this deep-dive, to me, is how you can speed up cutscenes to double-time.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set to release on April 9, 2027.
That’s everything shown and announced during the September 2026 State of Play. Let me know what you thought of this State of Play in the comments section below.
