Everything Announced At The Legend Of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct

Everything announced during The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct, including the Ocarina of Time remake

The Legend of Zelda is turning 40, and to celebrate, Nintendo held a direct focused on what’s coming in the coming year.

We got our first look at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, a title reveal for the Zelda movie, and a bunch of other goodies, including LEGO—plenty of things for Zelda fans to spend their money on over the next twelve months.

Here’s everything that was announced in The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct.

Zelda Concerts

A worldwide orchestral tour. The 40th-anniversary tour was announced. It kicks off in Tokyo on January 23 and will travel around North America, Europe, and Australia later in early 2027.

The Legend of Zelda Movie

The Untitled Legend of Zelda Movie is now titled The Legend of Zelda. It’s coming to cinemas on April 30, 2027.

The Legend of Zelda Gear & Merch

A bunch of new toys and more were announced to be coming over the next twelve months.

These include a Link & Epona Lego set, an electronic Master Sword from Hasbro (which will also release other toys), and a playable Ocarina in both classic and electronic versions.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Announced earlier this year after many rumours, we now have a proper look at what this Nintendo Switch 2 remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game will look like.

The art style has been described as modernising while keeping some nostalgia in the character models, but the overworld has received a big upgrade. Combat is intact with the lock-on-focused gameplay, though there’s plenty of exciting new additions outside of combat, like a dedicated jump button and the ability to spring now. Other features include a camera you can control, as well as the ability to hum to play the Ocarina in-game instead of just using button inputs.

Alongside the deep-dive gameplay, we also received a trailer, which accompanied the release date news.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is set to release on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5.

Amiibo

A Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo will be released; they will add masks to the game showing how each character looks in the original Nintendo 64 game.

Nintendo Switch 2 & Pro Controller

A Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller were announced. The console will be available for regular release at stores, but the Pro Controller will be exclusive to the Nintendo Store here in Australia.
