Everything Announced At The September 2026 Nintendo Direct

Nintendo followed up the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct with a normal Nintendo Direct packed with 40 minutes of updates and reveals.

We got a lot in this Direct, which ran at a speedy pace for the majority of it, only slowing down to focus on some bigger reveals, like a new Metroid and Kirby game.

Here’s everything announced in the September 2026 Nintendo Direct.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, and it will also have local multiplayer.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation

A ‘Royal Edition’ of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027 with all the premium DLC included.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered

The Witcher 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch with Joy-Con 2 support, like mouse mode and gyro controls. If you have the Nintendo Switch version, you get a free update.

Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave

It’s not long now until you can play the latest Fire Emblem game on September 17.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam 

It feels like it’s been a long time coming, but Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is coming on December 10 for Nintendo Switch 2.

Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain

A very short teaser announced that a new Yo-kai game is in development for Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s titled Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain.

Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy

In the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Pikmin 4, you’ll be able to speak to Ochi using voice commands. And in the Dandori Academy expansion, you’ll be taking on challenges on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with 72 of these set to be released over time.

Onyx: The Dark Grip

The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game from horror game developer Bloober Team has been revealed, and it’s coming in 2027.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 

There will be a ‘Heroes Value’ mode in the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, and a new hero named Shimmer will be joining the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 is releasing on December 3, 2026.

Stage Fright

This is a new game from the team behind Overcooked, where you’ll need to work with another player in this co-op adventure to solve puzzles in a haunted house.

Stage Fright is releasing in 2027.

Dreamlight Valley – The Keepsake Sea

The next expansion for Dreamlight Valley is arriving in November.

Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale 

Giving me Tearaway vibes, this rhythm-puzzle action game has you scooping up the beats and is coming in 2027.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18. You’ll also get the currently released DLC.

More of the Kirby Air Riders team are getting amiibo releases.

Cairn

It’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, and there’s a demo on the eShop today.

Resident Evil Remakes

These three Resident Evil games are coming to Nintendo Switch 2, with the DLC included. That’s Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition, all coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

The remake of the original Tomb Raider game gets a new trailer and is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12, 2027.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort 

This new trailer focuses on roaming the island to find secrets, or simply chasing dolphins. And there’s also an ‘Island Crown Mode’ where you’ll be facing off against champions of each of the sports in the game.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is releasing on October 22, 2026.

Metroid Ravenous

A new Metroid game from MercurySteam, the team behind Metroid Dread. And it looks like it’s building on everything people loved about Dread, while adding a bit more colour to the game.

It’s coming in hot with a January 28, 2027 release date.

Mario Kart World

1.8 Version Update is out today and adds SNES Mario Kart courses to the game.

Mega-Man Dual Override + Amiibo

A new trailer for the Mega-Man game called Dual Override, paired with some more amiibo news, with two more on their way.

Eternal Anima

This new RPG looks like Bravely/Octopath/Triangle in style and substance, so if you’re a lover of this style of RPG, add this to the list.

Eternal Anima is set to release on March 4, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2.

Danganronpa 2×2

This new version of the second Danganronpa game will include the original story, plus a new ‘Slayhem’ mode that changes how the story unfolds and adds new characters.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22.

METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION

This collection will include ten Metal Slug games and is set to release in 2027.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX

This new Yu-Gi-Oh! game adds online multiplayer, a voice cast, and more, and it’s coming on February 16, 2027.

Person 4 Revival

A new trailer for Persona 4 Revival, but with a note that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is coming a bit later than other platforms, with a May 20 release date.

Persona 6

We also then got another very short logo teaser for Persona 6, confirming it’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Kirby and the World Beyond

It’s the 35th anniversary of Kirby next year, and we’re getting our first open-world Kirby game in 2027 to be paired with that event. It looks very charming and colourful, with all the stuff you’d expect from a Kirby game, but in a 3D open-world fashion. There also looks to be some Truman Show-type thing going on; I’m not sure, but Kirby breaks through his world into the “world beyond.”

Kirby and the World Beyond is arriving in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2. There will presumably be other Kirby content to coincide with the 35th Anniversary next year.
