Following their tease of big news coming to Fall Guys, developer Mediatonic has revealed that the game is going free-to-play and coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch on June 21st.
The shift to free-to-play isn’t just a soft reset; it’s a complete rest as the season beginning on June 21st will be titled “Season 1: Free For All.” Everything you’d expect from a 2022 free-to-play game will be here, and if you’ve played either Fortnite or Rocket League, two other F2P games published by Epic Games, you’ll be ready for what’s coming. A premium season pass is being added, although the free pass the game has always used will also continue. There will also be a new premium currency introduced to purchase the premium battle pass, called ‘Show-Bucks.’
If you bought the game already on either PC or PlayStation, you’ll get a thank you pack, including cosmetics and the Season Pass for Season 1: Free For All.
Fall Guys will also get cross-play and cross-progression amongst all platforms when the game launches on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 21st. But the game will also be removed from Steam for purchase on PC as it moves to the Epic Games Store. However, if you already own the game on Steam, you’ll be allowed to continue playing there, and it’ll continue to be supported by Mediatonic.
