As one of the most-requested remakes/remasters, it was very exciting for fans when Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy Tactics is getting an enhanced edition, and it’s set to release pretty soon, on September 30, as Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles.
This enhanced version of the classic PS1 turn-based spin-off to the Final Fantasy series will feature two ways to play, either with the improved and much-updated graphics, the new, fully voiced dialogue, or with the ‘classic’ versions, which look like the original 1997 game with the War of the Lions dialogue updates. Of course, War of the Lions was a PSP update of Final Fantasy Tactics that not only featured a new translation of the game but also tied it into the other Ivalice-set games, most notably Final Fantasy XII.
Final Fantasy Tactics has long been considered one of the best stories in the series, and this new release will offer fans who have jumped into the franchise over the last few years with recent remakes and new games like Final Fantasy XVI a chance to experience one of the series’ best.
The voice cast for Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles has been revealed, and it includes some all-star talent from the series.
Here’s the full voice cast list:
- Joe Pitts (Ramza)
- Gregg Lowe (Delita)
- Hannah Melbourn (Agrias)
- Timothy Watson (Cidolfus)
- Harry McEntire (Mustadio)
- Ben Starr (Dycedarg)
The game will also include some cameo characters, as did the original game and War of the Lions. Cody Christian will voice Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and Briana White will be voicing Aerith Gainsborough from the FFVII Remake series as well.
You can pre-order the game now, and if you do, you’ll get the following bonuses:
