James Wan is returning to horror very soon with Malignant, his first non-sequel horror film since 2013’s The Conjuring.
The film stars Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle) as Madison, a girl who is paralysed by shocking visions of grisly murders. At first, she thinks these dreams are simply haunting her, but then she realised what she’s witnessing is happening.

The trailer is very creepy and has excellent use of colour. Wan has a great relationship with his director of photography Don Burgess, and art director Desma Murphy and it shows here.
Alongside Wallis, the film also stars Maddie Hasson (Mr. Mercedes), George Young (Containment), Michole Briana White (Dead to Me), Jacqueline McKenzie (Reckoning), Jake Abel (Supernatural) and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It).
Malignant will release in Australian cinemas on September 9th.
