Australia’s independent games festival, Freeplay, has launched a fundraising campaign ahead of the end of the financial year, with donations going towards keeping tickets for its annual Parallels event as affordable as possible.

In an email sent to supporters, the organisation said it’s hoping to raise enough money to ensure working artists can still attend Parallels this year, with an additional goal of livestreaming the event if funding targets are met.

“We’re trying to raise enough money to make sure working artists can afford to come to Parallels this year,” the team wrote. “Every dollar you contribute helps us make our ticket prices for everyone cheaper – and if we raise enough, we’re going to livestream so no one misses out.”

The organisation notes that donations over $2 are tax-deductible through the Australian Cultural Fund.

If you’d like to support the organisation and help keep Parallels accessible in 2026, donations are open until July 31.
