Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley, kicked off the biggest gaming convention in the world with 5000 in the crowd watching along, and hundreds of thousands set to attend the show floor itself.
This year’s show featured gameplay reveals, release dates for anticipated games, and, of course, some world premieres from the first teaser trailer for Fallout: Season 2, to the cap-off announcement of the sequel to Black Myth: Wukong.
Here are all the trailers and news from this year’s Opening Night Live show.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Getting the tease for Hollow Knight: Silksong out of the way, Geoff confirmed attendees will be able to check out a demo for the game on the show floor over the next couple of days.
Team Cherry is also hosting a ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong – Special Announcement’ stream upcoming for Friday at 12:30 AM AEST, presumably the release date news everyone wants to know about.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
A new trailer showcased the psychological warfare that is at the forefront of the campaign. It was then revealed that the campaign can be played in either solo or with three other friends in co-op if you’d like. There’s also going to be an ‘endgame,’ where it seems you’ll be facing off with an intense mix of different enemy types and more with your friends.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 also got a release date announcement, and it’s releasing on November 14.
Lords of the Fallen II
A cinematic trailer for Lords of the Fallen II teased a brutal new sequel.
Sekiro: No Defeat
An anime based on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is coming exclusively to Crunchyroll.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
A brand new LEGO Batman game was announced, and it’s coming in 2026. It features a bunch of the classic villains, and features moments and references from the films, TV shows, comics and games. The combat is a lot more intense than you’d usually see in LEGO games; there are even difficulty modes for those wanting a challenge for the first time in a LEGO game.
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War IV
An announcement for the newest entry in the RTS series, this one will feature over 70 campaign missions and four playable factions.
Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV Online
A crossover with Final Fantasy XIV Online will see players being able to ride Chocobos in one game and meet some monsters in the other.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
A new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword showcased what seemed like the main villain in the game.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is scheduled to release in 2026.
Arknights – Endfield
Here’s a new trailer for this upcoming free-to-play action RPG.
Europa Universalis V
The game is releasing on November 4.
Void/Breaker
The game has launched into Early Access today.
Daemon x Machina
A new trailer for the upcoming sequel was released, and it was also announced that a demo is out now on all platforms.
Fallout: Season 2
Producers and cast members joined Geoff on stage to talk about the upcoming second season, and they also revealed the teaser trailer for Fallout: Season 2.
Indian Jones and the Great Circle – The Order of Giants
A new trailer for the upcoming DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle teased that there will be learn to about the giants in this upcoming story.
This DLC will be released on September 4, and it was also announced that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Deadpool VR
A new trailer for the upcoming Deadpool VR introduced Mojo to the game, who John Leguizamo is voicing.
Deadpool VR is releasing on Meta Quest on November 18.
World of Tanks 2.0
The biggest update in World of Tanks’ history is arriving soon, and a trailer teased some new features coming to this massive update.
September 1 APAC and September 3 for EU and NA.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
The first gameplay trailer for the game was revealed, and the game is still set to release in 2026.
Death by Scrolling
This is a new roguelike from Ron Gilbert, and in it, the screen is constantly scrolling vertically, with the Grim Reaper chasing you down in Purgatory. You’ll need to move fast, look for upgrades, and fight while collecting gold to be able to pay the ferryman and escape.
Zero Parades
The first teaser trailer for ZA/UM’s follow-up to Disco Elysium has been shared. It looks a lot like Elysium, at least in this teaser trailer.
NTA – Never To Endless
NTE is coming to PlayStation 5 soon.
Unbeatable
A new and final trailer for Unbeatable continues to show the very stylish-looking game, and there’s a release date of November 6 now.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – Musical Performance
A quick break from trailers for a beautiful performance from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Ninja Gaiden 4
A new trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4 showcased the story.
Cinder
This is a new MMO tactical shooter.
Time Takers
This third-person multiplayer shooter features a background story where all the characters are pulled from different timelines to fight together in this new world.
Silent Hill F
This new trailer showcased the English voice acting, while also continuing to show the terrifying new setting and characters.
La Divina Commedia
Cool looking trailer for this new game based on the Divine Comedy, and a new take on Dante’s Inferno. I couldn’t tell you what the title of the game was without going back to study it, though — new font please!
Cronos: The New Dawn
Someone came out in a full suit on stage before a new trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn played. This is the upcoming original game from Bloober Team, and it’s releasing on September 5.
The Outer Worlds 2
The ‘head of sequels‘ gave us a new trailer for The Outer Worlds 2, which focuses on the game’s companions and, notably, “no, you can’t sleep with them.”
The Outer Worlds 2 is set to release on October 29.
The Seven Deadly Sins Origins
There’s a closed beta for this open-world RPG starting soon.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault
A new trailer for Moonlighter 2 gives an Early Access release date of October 23.
Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2
A release date for Bloodlines 2, finally, as it’s set to release on October 21.
Enshrouded
Game Update 7 – out now.
Age of Empires IV – Anniversary Edition
The ‘Dynasties of the East’ expansion is coming, and so is the game coming to PlayStation 5.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Legacy of the Forge
A new DLC is on its way on September 9.
Cult of the Lamb – Woolhaven
A new expansion is arriving for Cult of the Lamb in 2026.
World of Warcraft: Midnight
A very cinematic and classic WoW trailer showcased the upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft: Midnight, which is coming in 2026.
Project Spectrum
This one is being sold as a ‘PvEvP’ tactical shooter. Creepy trailer though.
World of Tanks: Heat
This is a hero-shooter variation on World of Tanks with 10 v 10 battles.
Ghost of Yotei
A new trailer for Ghost of Yotei showcased the story, but at the end of this teaser, it was announced that Ghost of Yotei will be getting a free ‘Legends’ update to add co-op in 2026.
Resident Evil: Requiem
A new trailer, featuring short gameplay from what appears to be the beginning of the game, teased a mysterious new narrative coming to the world of RE in 2026.
Resident Evil: Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui
The show wrapped up with the first teaser trailer for the next game in Game Science’s adaptation of the Journey to the West.
