HBO Max has released the official trailer for Lanterns, giving us the best look yet at DC Studios’ upcoming live-action series ahead of its premiere on August 17.
The trailer debuted during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, which featured stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Garret Dillahunt, and Poorna Jagannathan.
Set within the new DC Universe, Lanterns follows the veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) as they’re pulled into a murder investigation in the American heartland.

The series also stars Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.
James Hawes directs the opening two episodes, with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also directing across the season.
Lanterns premieres exclusively on HBO Max on August 17, 2026.
