High Score 2026 Announces First Speakers For Melbourne Game Audio Conference
The 10th edition of High Score returns to MIGW 2026 in Melbourne
High Score will return to Melbourne this October for its 10th edition, with the speakers announced for Australia’s dedicated game audio conference.
Taking place at ACMI on October 3-4, 2026, as part of Melbourne International Games Week, the first lineup includes Hollow Knight composer Christopher Larkin, Helldivers 2 composer Wilbert Roget II and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Duncan Smith.
Australian composer and sound designer Christopher Larkin is best known for creating the distinctive music and sound of Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong. His credits also include Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, and his High Score appearance will explore the role music and sound play in worldbuilding, atmosphere and emotional storytelling.
Wilbert Roget II will bring experience from major franchises including Helldivers 2 and Mortal Kombat. His session will focus on what he calls “musical sound design”, exploring how field recordings, everyday sounds and unexpected source material can be transformed into elements of a video game score.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Duncan Smith is also among the first three announced speakers, bringing the AAA development side of game audio to this year’s program.
Full details on the program can be found on the High Score 2026 website, and you can purchase tickets to High Score 2026 now.
