I can speak for everyone at Explosion Network and say we loved James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and even though John Cena’s Peacemaker turns out to be a two-faced SOB in the film, we’re all still excited to watch the upcoming HBO Max series.
The upcoming HBO Max series picks up right where the after-credits scene from The Suicide Squad left off with Peacemaker recovering in hospital after being left for dead. The show introduces Vigilante as another ridiculous would-be-hero and a new team of characters that’ll be part of Peacemakers new team.
James Gunn revealed that the show would be both a sequel and a prequel. Peacemaker will delve into the past of Peacemaker and what happens with the character following The Suicide Squad.
