The Level Up Tasmania Video Game Showcase is back for 2026 and will run from Friday, April 17, to Saturday, 18.

The free weekend is a celebration of all things Tasmaania-made video games, and is a great time to check out locally created games, as well as a chance to speak to the creators behind them.

It’s also a great opportunity for those in or looking to enter the industry to participate in ‘Industry Day’ on Sunday, April 19.

There will be 40+ games on show, including Dino Time Raiders from Webbysoft, Nullstar: Solus from Smash Attack Studios, and Sky Rush VR from Adam Walker Film. There will also be some public talks and live demos from game creators, including Ian Lewis and Lindsay Wells of Giant Margarita, and Jon Manning from Secret Lab.

A first for this year’s Level Up Tasmania is a Cosplay Competition, which will be held on Saturday. The competition is being put together and will be presented by Dr Emerald L King, an accomplished cosplayer and Australia’s representative at the 2024 World Cosplay Summit in Japan.

Although the event is free, you’ll still need to grab your tickets on the website here ahead of the event.
