2K Games and Hangar 13 recently unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Mafia: The Old Country, which will be released on August 8, 2025.

The story of Mafia: The Old Country follows Enzo Favara in Sicily in the early 1900s as he works his way up the Don Torrisi crime family. Taking players back into the earliest years of the Mafia timeline in this game.

Unlike the past two entries in this series, Mafia: The Old Country will be a linear experience and will not feature an open world. Hanger 13 President said, “That focus allows us to deliver a story that’s gritty, grounded, brutal, and emotional.”

The team also breaks down how they’ve created the world of 1900s Sicily in the ‘Breaking Omertà’ Developer Insights, which you can check out below.

“We think there’s a large audience for compelling stories that don’t require massive time commitments,” said 2K President David Ismailer. “We’re excited to offer a game like Mafia: The Old Country in our portfolio, and to provide a linear, highly polished narrative experience that can easily complement the other more persistent games our players also love and engage with on a more consistent basis.”

Mafia: The Old Country will be released on August 8, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
