Marvel’s 2025 Blade film is off the schedule for now

Maybe Wesley Snipes was right

Marvel has been struggling to get a new Blade film on cinema screens, and the situation has only gotten worse with the film now seemingly shelved.

Blade was scheduled to release in November 2025, but after going through at least a couple of directors and writers over the project, it’s had its spot on Disney’s upcoming film slate replaced with Predator: Badlands.

Mahershala Ali has been attached to play the titular character since his casting in 2019, and all reports are that he’ll stay attached for the time being. Mia Goth was also cast in the film to play Lilith, the villain of the film, and she seems to still be on board for the film as well.

It seems the project is cursed, as directors, writers, and Marvel can’t seem to come to all-agreeing terms to finalize the film and start shooting. Or maybe the original Blade, Wesley Snipes, was right when he said:
