Meta has announced that the Meta Quest 2 will receive a USD $100 price increase as of August 1st. That’s nearly an AUD $150 price increase with only a few days’ notice!
Although Meta said every machine bought from August 1st onwards would include a copy of Beat Saber for free, it’s hardly enough to cover the price increase.
According to Meta, the price increase is the increasing cost for them to make the headsets between the parts needed and the shipping. Which are all valid reasons, considering it was already assumed they were losing money on the machines, but it still sucks to see.
Thankfully if you want to grab a Meta Quest 2 before the prices increase, you can grab one now via Amazon.
