Microsoft has halted development of another game, this time Contraband, which Avalanche Studios, the team behind the Just Cause series of games, was developing.

After Game File initially covered the news, Avalanche Studios has now posted an update on Contraband itself on their website that reads:

“Over the past several years, Avalanche Studios Group and Xbox Game Studios Publishing have collaborated on Contraband. Active development has now stopped while we evaluate the project’s future. We’re thankful for the excitement we’ve seen from the community since we announced, and will give an update on what’s next as soon as we can.”

Contraband never got a lot of coverage, with only one trailer released —a reveal teaser. That video was actually set to private on Xbox’s official YouTube channel, but places like IGN below still have it on theirs to watch.
