The top end of our list is focused on some big IP getting new video game treatment, and also what will be, undoubtedly, the biggest video game release of the year; however, we still have some exciting new games and fresh IP to look forward to this year.

Here are our picks for the Most Anticipated Games releasing in 2026.

10.) Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

9.) Vampire Crawlers

This spin-off title is set to give you a whole new perspective of the world of Vampire Survivors. The team at poncle found massive success with the 2022 with Vampire Survivors and are now giving that game a new twist with Vampire Crawlers, described as “a casual, turn‑based deckbuilder with roguelite elements”. If it comes close to addictive as the original, this is sure to have us playing cards for hours on end.

8.) Saros

If you’ve been loving Remedy’s current run of video games, and their recent creation of connecting their games into one universe with Alan Wake II, you’ll be as excited as I am for Control Resonant. This time, we’ll be playing as Dylan Faden, the sister of Control protagonist and FBC director Jesse Faden. We’re trading in guns for melee combat with Dylan, but the world looks as wildly supernatural and as interesting as ever.

7.) Mewgenics

In this captivating rogue-like game, immerse yourself in the enchanting world of feline companionship as you breed a diverse array of cats, each with their own distinct characteristics. Manage your household with strategic finesse, crafting a cozy haven that nurtures your feline friends. When the time comes, send your beloved cats on thrilling tactical, turn-based adventures to gather precious resources.
As your cats embark on these quests, they will gain extraordinary traits, unique abilities, and even unpredictable mutations, paving the way for the emergence of powerful successors through each generation. With a rich blend of RPG elements and an intricate cat management system, every decision you make shapes the legacy of your furry companions, ensuring each playthrough is a fresh and engaging experience.

6.) Mixtape

I played about 45 minutes of Mixtape and wished I could have kept playing. The game’ss focus on music as a core-memory associated with our memories and how we tell stories is great, and the cast of characters all seem great. As a big fan of Beethoven and Dinosaur’s first game, The Artful Escape and that game’s use of music and basic gameplay elements to build a vibe, rather than tell the player how to feel, I’m excited to see what they’ll do with a bigger cast of core characters here.

5.) Control Resonant

If you’ve been loving Remedy’s current run of video games, and their recent creation of connecting their games into one universe with Alan Wake II, you’ll be as excited as I am for Control Resonant. This time, we’ll be playing as Dylan Faden, the sister of Control protagonist and FBC director Jesse Faden. We’re trading in guns for melee combat with Dylan, but the world looks as wildly supernatural and as interesting as ever.

4.) Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Experience his transformation from a determined vigilante to the legendary protector of Gotham City. Build and strengthen his family of allies, while confronting an unforgettable roster of formidable foes from his rogues’ gallery.
Explore a revolutionary combat system that seamlessly integrates stealth tactics and exhilarating combo moves, allowing players to master the art of hand-to-hand combat. 3.) Grand Theft Auto 6

Grand Theft Auto 6 plunges players into the intense journey of Lucia and Jason, a couple steeped in romance and crime as they navigate the vibrant yet perilous fictional State of Leonida, particularly its notorious Vice City. After a botched bank heist, they find themselves fleeing from rival gangs and relentless law enforcement, living a life reminiscent of the legendary Bonnie and Clyde.
Amidst the chaos of the glamorous yet gritty urban landscape, the couple battles trust issues that threaten to unravel their bond. As they confront the dark underbelly of Vice City, they strive to forge a new life, challenged by the dangers of their criminal choices and the haunting past that lingers in the shadows. Join them in their quest for survival and redemption in a world that offers little mercy.

2.) Marvel’s Wolverine

After finding massive success with their Spider-Man titles, Insomniac is now focused on the beloved X-Men member Wolverine. Set to be Wolverine’s first solo game since X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, Insomniac appear to be bringing the blood and violence to this title in a way not yet achieved in gaming or in film, doing justice to a character with a very violent history. We can’t wait to get our claws into this one.

1.) 007 First Light

An original narrative that draws from the rich legacy of the long-running film franchise and the classic novels and short stories penned by Ian Fleming. This title will introduce a fresh take on Bond, reimagined as a 26-year-old, green MI6 agent navigating the shadowy world of espionage in a quest to earn his coveted 00 status.
Fans will be delighted to see beloved characters like M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny return in exciting new roles, alongside a host of intriguing new faces that add depth to the storyline. As Bond embarks on his mission, he must find his footing amidst a labyrinth of conspiracy and chaos, including a brewing coup that threatens global stability.
The game promises a thrilling fusion of high-octane action, strategic stealth, and cutting-edge gadgets, showcasing Bond’s resourcefulness in a sprawling, sandbox-style world. Players will have the opportunity to approach missions with creativity, employing a range of tactics to outsmart enemies and unravel the intricate web of danger that lies ahead.
