Netflix debuts trailer for new Australia series, Irreverent

“A Brooklyn bad boy screws up the heist of his life and is forced to hide out in a reef town in Far North Queensland posing as the new church Reverend. Irreverent is a fish out of water story with a big twist. “Reverend Robert Clarke” (aka Mackenzie Pratt) is a con man and a thief and he’s on the run from his lethal boss, the police and everyone who has seen the price on his head. He’ll need all of his considerable street smarts to pull off his greatest sleight of hand yet posing as clergy – something he doesn’t know the first thing about. The stakes don’t come any higher; if he slips up, he’s dead. And after a lifetime of crime, doing good work is not something that comes naturally. But to his surprise, “Rev Rob” will develop a knack for carrying his flock and eventually, maybe even like it.”

Irreverent two showrunners are Paddy Macrae (Wanted) and Andrew Knight (Rake). The series features ten 60-minute episodes, which will debut on December 4th when the series drops on Netflix.
