To coincide with the 16th Anniversary of the Gears of War franchise, Netflix has today announced that it’d be working with The Coalition to adapt the franchise into a film and animated series.

Netflix has stated that they’ll first adapt the video game saga into a live-action feature film. This will be followed with an adult animated series, with the potential of more stories to follow.

Netflix is already working on adaptations of Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin’s Creed and Bioshock, making them the premiere video game adaptation production company. 

We recently learned HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us would begin airing in January next year.
