You may want to revisit the previous Avatar films, or at least scan the Wikipedia page, as the third film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is set to release near the end of December, and is sure to be one of the biggest movies of the year. Another film that might pull in a surprising number of butts-in-seats may be Anaconda, a sort of reboot of the B-tier horror film series, this time adding Paul Rudd and Jack Black as the leads. And finally, there’s the release of The Housemaid, which has had some really intriguing trailers and, hopefully, will prove to be a better box-office success for star Sydney Sweeney, who has had, unfortunately, a string of duds in the last few months.

Here are all the new films coming to Australian cinemas in December 2025.
