A new film from the director of one of 2023’s best films and one of 2022’s best films makes this a stellar month to head to the cinema.
I am, of course, referring to Materialists, the new film from Celine Song, the director and writer of Past Lives and F1, from Joseph Kosinski, the director of the cinematic spectacle that was Top Gun: Maverick. Joining those highlights this month is the return of the zombie-world from Alex Garland, in 28 Years Later, which sees Danny Boyle returning to direct after stepping out for the second film; Karate Kid: Legends, where Daniel LaRusso returns to the big screen, this time alongside Jackie Chan’s character, Mr. Han from the 2010 reboot film, and M3GAN 2.0 looks to be taking the horror film in a wild new direction, with what looks to be plenty of laughs.
Here are all the new films coming to Australian cinemas in June 2025.
