Xbox has announced a new version of the Xbox Wireless Headset, which includes several improvements, including Dolby Atmos and an improved battery life.

Sharing the news via Xbox Wire this morning, Mekias Bekalu, Product Marketing Manager for Xbox Accessories, wrote that the addition of Dolby Atmos “delivers immersive, spatial audio that brings games to life in vivid detail.” Also, note that Dolby Atmos is part of the headset, and we are not saying you need to pay a license after purchase.

“You can experience sound with stunning precision, allowing you to pinpoint every footstep, explosion, or whisper. Dolby Atmos now included at no extra cost, transforms your audio experience by revealing depth, clarity, and details like never before, creating a sound experience you can feel all around you.”

The headset also now includes an “improved battery life, offering up to 20 hours of playtime ” and an upgraded microphone with an enhanced auto-mute and voice isolation function. The updated Xbox Wireless Headset will now also feature Bluetooth 5.3.

Launching today, the new Xbox Wireless Headset will be available in local retailers or through the Microsoft Store.
