This was a first time showing for the Future Games Show. It was produced by GameRadar+ and presented by Uncharted stars, Nolan North and Emily Rose.
As a show, it’s style started in a very Nintendo Direct-ish sliding presentation of games and trailers been shown with Noaln’s and Emily’s banter carrying the in-between moments with ease. The show was slowed down several times for GamesRadar to inject what is basically features about the next-generation of gaming and even crossplay. They weren’t bad — they just slowed down this particular presentation.
Anyway, onto the trailers and reveals. Here’s everything that was announced, revealed or had a trailer in the Furue Gaming Show.

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter 1
Nothing super-new shown in this developer presenttion but there was some concept art and it’s always good to hear devs explain their vision for their game anyway.
“In this story-driven detective thriller, a young Sherlock Holmes struggles to prove himself as he navigates an exotic, dangerous island in the Mediterranean to investigate the mystery of his mother’s death.”

Cygni
This is a very stylish shoot-em-up with a taste for the cinematic. Not usually into the genre myself, but I’m intrigued by this one.
“An unrelenting onslaught of eye-popping visuals, ear bursting soundscapes and mind-melting action makes Cygni the vanguard for the next generation of shoot-em ups. Outgunned, outmanned and out on your own, plunge into a sky full of hell in a last-ditch battle for survival.”

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes
An RPG souls-like with a flair of horror and a taste of Lovecraft. Something different for sure.
“Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is a Horrorpunk Action RPG filled with Lovecraftian horrors and Cronenbergian gore, making it the most gruesome take on the isometric Souls-like genre yet!”

Hot Shots Racing
Fast & sylish arcade racer that looks full of colour.
“Hotshot Racing is a blisteringly fast arcade-style racing game fusing drift handling, razor-sharp retro visuals and an incredible sense of speed to create an exhilarating driving experience.”
Cris Tales
Cris Tales is releasing on November 17th and I can’t wait.
“Cris Tales is a gorgeous, indie love letter to classic JRPGs with a new perspective. Peer into the past, act in the present, and watch as your choices dynamically change the future — all on one screen as you play!”
Liberated
Liberated is getting an upgrade and coming to Nintendo Switch. This news had already been revealed earlier in the night at the Guerrilla Collective, however.
“Enter an action-adventure game inside a living, hand-drawn comic book. Uncover an alarmingly current cyberpunk reality where human rights are dying away. Take up arms and solve puzzles in a noir rain-soaked city that’s desperate for justice.”
Neon Abyss
A rather colourful, or shall we say neon? Rogue-like. There’s a demo for this one on Steam you can download.
“Neon Abyss is a frantic, roguelite action-platformer where you run ‘n’ gun your way into the Abyss. Featuring unlimited item synergies and a unique dungeon evolution system, each run diversifies the experience and every choice alters the ruleset.”
Skater XL
This developer demo showed off a new level set in a High School, the kinda level all skateboarding games need.
“”Welcome to the rebirth of authentic skateboarding.” – Critical Hit. Experience unparalleled board control and responsiveness while you skate legendary real-world skate spots.”
GTTOD: Get To The Orange Door
The game is now coming to Xbox One, but if you’d like to try it out on PC there is a demo available on the Steam page.
“The objective is in the title. Launch yourself gun-first into a neon synthwave virtualscape FPS as you wall run, slide, clamber, and dash around each level at supersonic speeds.”
Waking
In this game, you’re in a coma and I thought it was a sequel to Driver: San Francisco.
“Combining third-person action and guided meditation, Waking is an emotional adventure through your dying mind. Battle the forces of oblivion, conjure the memories of loved ones, and join them in the fight for your life.”
Space Crew
This one reminds me of FTL but with more cartoon characters and less threatening UI.
“Captain’s Log, Star Date 2152. This is Space Crew. Its continuing mission: To defend Earth and humankind, to eliminate the extraterrestrial threat and to boldly go where no Crew has gone before in this unique, strategic, space simulation!”
Maid of Sker
A Welsh made horror game with a focus on Welsh folklore – that’s new, scary and interesting.
“Maid of Sker is a first-person survival horror, set in a remote hotel with a gory and macabre history from British folklore. Brave the nightmares of the Quiet Ones. Do not panic…don’t even breathe!”

Stage Hands- ArcheAge: Unchained
Remnant: From The Ashes DLC – Subject 2923
The final DLC for Remnant: From The Ashes.
“In a brand-new continuation of the Remnant: From the Ashes story, meet unexpected allies, traverse unfamiliar zones and dimensions, and overcome new threats to save your world. Complete new quests and conquer unique bosses to acquire additional gear, increasing your chances of surviving the rugged wilderness of Earth and beyond, as you aim to put an end to the Root and restore humanity.”
The Captain Is Dead
Turning a popular board game into a video game. They usually work one-way, but not the other. This looks intriguing even if I know nothing of the source game.
“It’s the last 10 minutes of your favorite sci-fi TV show… except that this time things have gone seriously wrong and The Captain Is Dead! This turn-based, survival/strategy puts you in the Captain’s chair as you try to save your crew from being blown to bits by aliens…”
Main Assembly
Robot creation, destruction, racing. All-round lots of robot fun with friends.
“Build robots with revolutionary free-form crafting tools and control them through powerful visual programming. Overcome solo challenges or play with your friends in multiplayer. Featuring advanced physics like aerodynamics and robot destruction!”
Blankos Block Party
Another game that had shown up earlier in the Guerilla Collective. It’s an MMO where you play as vinyl toys and can build your character in many ways. This developer video dives into more of those details.
“Blankos Block Party is a MMO set in a vibrant online world styled like a giant block party, with a focus on custom art and design, world-building and exploration, and trading and collecting unique Blankos.”
Last Oasis
A bunch of new content is coming to Last Oasis.
“Keep moving, the world is dying! In this Nomadic Survival MMO, you can build walking mobile bases to travel to new lands. Join up with a clan and fight for territory. Resources deplete fast, so grab your sword and get ready to scavenge, pirate, and trade to stay alive.”
Wastelands 3
Wasteland 3 is nearly here. We’ve only got a couple of months left to wait but here’s another gameplay trailer to pull you along to August 28th.
“Following the critically acclaimed 2014 Game of the Year winner Wasteland 2, the RPG series that pioneered the post-apocalyptic genre in video games returns with Wasteland 3.”
Remothered: Broken Porcelain
The second game in the series is being touted as a great entry point, but also a continuation of what horror fans loved about the first one. I actually need to go back and play the original since it’s left early access, but from what I did play – very scary.
“Broken Porcelain brings an abundance of welcome changes to the series, introducing new gameplay and storytelling elements that breathe new life into the characters and an unprecedented level of immersion in this haunting adventure – perfect for both new and returning fans to the series.”
Werewolf The Apocalypse: Heart of the Forest
Another game from The World of Darkness lore. Vampires, Werewolves – they’re all getting their time to shine. This trailer gives us nothing, however, on the developer’s website this quote I found should tantalize:
“Heart of the Forest was designed by Jacek Brzezinski and Artur Ganszyniec, the leads behind the first game in The Witcher PC series. Both creators are also known as authors of numerous traditional role-playing games, editors of the most influential Polish RPG magazines, and writers of pen-and-paper RPG supplements. In the video game industry, they became known for their work on The Witcher, Dying Light, and Hitman. Their latest titles are the critically acclaimed Wanderlust: Travel Stories and its standalone expansion Wanderlust: Transsiberian.”
More information is coming on the game in July.
Rogue Company
A third-person shooter that’s coming to all platforms and pushing cross-play as a huge factor.
“Rogue Company will feature crossplay and cross- progression across all major platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC on the Epic Games Store in 2020.”
Disintegration
I have a review for this up right now! Read it here. The game is out on Tuesday.
Paradise Lost
A 12-year-old kid finds a secret Nazi bunker in Poland. What secrets does it hide? That’s a question I want to know the answer as well.
“Paradise Lost is an FPP adventure game about a 12-year-old kid who finds a mysterious Nazi bunker while roaming a post-nuclear Polish wasteland. Can you find its secret?”
Operation Tango
A stylish spy co-op game. Do you need a friend to play? Not sure at the moment.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Kena was one of the standouts from the PS5 event earlier in the week. This developer presentation doesn’t add much new, but it was nice to see it getting more push.
Serial Cleaners
A follow up to Serial Cleaner, which was set in the ’70s. Serial Cleaners is set during the ’90s and will see you doing similar stealth gameplay but through the eyes of four mob-cleaners this time around.
“Serial Cleaners is a single-player stealth action crime story in which you alternate between playing four eccentric mob cleaners taking on the bloodiest jobs the carefree 1990s had to offer. If you remember the nineties differently, their dirty work is the reason why.”
If you’d like to watch the show in full it’s below. Let me know your favourite trailer or moment from The Future Gaming Show in the comments.
