When Call of the Sea was announced during Xbox’s first 20/20 stream it was one of the standouts games from the entire event. The gorgeous art style and themes instantly grabbed many gamers, myself included, and we’ve been clamouring for more information.

Well, during The Future Game show this morning we got a tiny bit more information from Tatiana Delgado, one of the developers at Out of the Blue Games.

Delgado explained that although the game features many puzzles, it is not a game where the puzzles are the driving force. The narrative is the main focus, and the puzzles are always intertwined to driving the narrative forward and vice-versa.

She also explained that although the team has been inspired by the works of H.P Lovecraft for the game’s setting and story, it is not a horror game. It’s an adventure game.

Check out the full developer presentation video below and let me know in the comments how excited you are for Call of the Sea when it releases sometime in the future.
