Wizards of the Coast continues to announce impressive crossovers in the ‘Universes Beyond’ sets for the Magic: The Gathering universe. Previous collaborations include Godzilla, The Walking Dead, Steet Fighter and even the mega-crossover franchise itself, Fortnite. Next up: The Lord of the Rings, Warhammer 40K and… Doctor Who!

Overnight, Wizards of the Coast revealed that players would be heading to Middle-Earth with a fully-draftable set based upon The Lord of The Rings. But that’s not all, as they also gave a first look at Magic: The Gathering – Doctor Who, which will launch at the tail-end of Magic’s 30th anniversary and around the same time as Doctor Who’s the 60th anniversary.

The Doctor Who set will feature all your favourite Doctors, companions and monsters. Artwork revealed so far shows The Fourth Doctor holding out a bag of jelly beans, The Fugitive Doctor inside her TARDIS, and the moment Gallifrey stood together with 13 Doctors gathered in one location.

The set will include 4 Commander Decks, each with a different Doctor to lead you into battle. There will also be Collectors Boosters, and Secret Lair drops.

A crossover with Warhammer 40k is the next for Universe Beyond. The set includes 4 Commander decks, each led by a different faction within the 40k universe — Imperium, Chaos, Tyranid and Necron Dynasty. Each deck contains a Sol Ring, which has unique art specific for that particular faction.

The Warhammer 40k decks are available for pre-order now, with an October 7th release date.

The Doctor Who and The Lord of The Rings sets are releasing in 2023.
