Nintendo showed off several games during a 15 minute Direct Mini early Friday morning. Among the games shown was the reveal of two brand new Monster Hunter games, Monster Hunter: Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. It was also revealed that Ori and The Will of The Wisps is launching for Nintendo Switch today.
Here’s everything that was announced during the Nintendo Direct Mini.
This is the next game in the classic Monster Hunter franchise. It features the monster, weapons and creatures that fans all love. There’s also a new ‘wire-bud’ that lets you basically fling yourself around cliff faces like you’re in Attack on Titan.
Monster Hunter: Rise will launch on March 26th, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. There will be a standard edition available for the game with a bunch of pre-order bonuses. Three amiibo were also announced: the Palamute, Magnamalo and Palico.
The second Monster Hunter game announced was Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. It’s a sequel to the 3DS game that released in 2017. The Stories game was developed as a more typical RPG where you play as a “rider” instead of a “hunter” that you play in the core franchise.
It was also revealed that both Monster Hunter: Rise and Monster Huner Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will have some sort of crossover content.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release Winter 2021.
