Ahead of the Australian Game Developer Awards (AGDA), you may want to know where you can play each finalist games that are on the shortlist? Lucky for you, you can find that information below.

 

The Artful Escape (Excellence in Art, Excellence in Audio, Game of the Year)

Beethoven & Dinosaur’s first game is out now, and you can play it on Steam or Xbox. It’s even on Game Pass. 

In my review, I gave The Artful Escape a 10/10 and stated it’s a must-play.

Unpacking (Excellence in Art, Excellence in Gameplay, Excellence in Accessibility, Game of the Year)

Unpacking recently got its release date announced by developer Witch Beam, and you can look forward to playing it Steam and Nintendo Switch on November 2nd. 

Webbed (Excellence in Audio, Game of the Year)

Sbug Games released Webbed on Steam just a week ago. 

Eastern Market Murder (Excellence in Accessibility, Excellence in Mobile Games) 

True Crime Games released Eastern Market Murder earlier this year for both iOS and Android devices. 

TRIOS (Excellence in Audio, Excellence in Serious Games)

You can buy early access to TRIOS on itch.io or wait for the entire game to release on Steam on October 1st. There’s also a free in-browser version of the game you can try out here.

Ring of Pain (Excellence in Gameplay)

Ring of Pain was released in October of last year by developer Twice Different, and you can buy it now on Steam and Nintendo Switch

Funselektor released art of rally in September of 2020, and you can find it on SteamXboxNintendo SwitchGOG and Epic Games Store. It’s currently on Game Pass as well. 

TOPOGRAPHY (Excellence in Narrative)

Developed by Cecile Richard, you can play TOPOGRAPHY right now and for free in-browser via itch.io.

The Forgotten City (Excellence in Narrative)

The Forgotten City, originally a Skyrim mod, was released on SteamXboxPlayStation and Nintendo Switch in July of this year. 

Choices That Matter: And The Sun Went Out (Excellence in Narrative)

The text-based adventure from Tin Man Games was released on Steam and Nintendo Switch in November of 2020.

Submerged: Hidden Depths (Excellence in Accessibility)

Uppercut Games is releasing Submerged: Hidden Depths “soon,” and you can wishlist it on Steam

The Oregon Trail (Excellence in Mobile Games)

A remake of The Oregon Trail from Gameloft Brisbane was released on Apple Arcade earlier this year.

Botworld Adventure (Excellence in Mobile Games)

Botworld Adventure is available for free on iOS and Android right now. 

Sharmila (Excellence in Serious Games)

Developer for and by World Food Programme and Choas Theory Games, Sharmila is available as a free download on Windows and Mac. 

Streets of My Town (Excellence in Serious Games)

You can download Streets of My Town for free on Android devices, Windows and Mac. There’s also an iOS version, but it’s currently only available through Test Flight. Find links to all three of those last platforms on the official website. 

Pico Tanks (Excellence in Ongoing Games)

Pico Tanks from Panda Arcade is available for free on iOS and Android devices.

Crossy Road Castle (Excellence in Ongoing Games)

Cross Road Castle is available on iOS as part of Apple Arcade.

The Sims FreePlay (Excellence in Ongoing Games)

Developer The Firemonkeys Sims game, The Sims FreePlay, is available for free on the iOSGoogle and Amazon stores.

Pebble Witch (Excellence in Emerging Games)

You can find Fuzzy Ghost’s Pebble Witch on Steam or itch.io storefronts. 

Project Wingman (Excellence in Emerging Games)

Sector D2 released Project Wingman on Steam later last year, and it’s available in VR and non-VR. 

Video World (Excellence in Emerging Games)

Things For Humans released their game Video World for free on Steam in January of this year.
