Shannon Noll of ‘What About Me’ fame has recruited and esports team featuring various Australian celebrity characters and they’re participating in a Lenovo tournament this weekend.
I’m not making this up.
Nollsies packed team includes all-round Aussie Olympic speed with Steve Bradbury; Celebrity Apprentice Australia’s runner-up and Sweaty Betty PR business-woman Roxy Jacenko; and Love Island’s Cassidy McGill.
The Motley Squad (team name) will take part in The Lenovo LOV IV: PUBG AUS and NZ Qualifier this weekend.
The press release states their mission was:
“to show that anyone can be a competitive gamer, whatever your background. With over 90% of Aussies gaming on their phones, PCs and consoles, nobody should be underestimated.”
I’m not sure if there’s any way to watch The Motley Squad go after some chicken dinners this weekend yet, but I’m hoping a stream pops up.
