[Updated: Nintendo announced a special edition Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch OLED]

I love myself a google Nintendo Switch Pro rumour, and things had been pretty quiet on that front — until now.

As reported by VGC earlier in the week, Nintendo has filed a trademark application for the term ‘NSW.’ This is a weird one because as much as NSW is already a short-term accept for Nintendo Switch, it’s not one used by Nintendo themselves. On an internal basis, the Nintendo Switch’s official three-letter codename is actually ‘HAC.’ 

Now, fans have already begun to speculate that it could be the ‘Nintendo Switch W,’ which sounds ridiculous to me, but this is the company that named a machine the Wii U. Plus, the memes about BIG W’s for Nintendo would be writing themselves on that one.

Adding more fuel to the fire is the fact that, as of this morning, Nintendo has set the Nintendo Switch OLED announcement trailer to private, which is weird and could simply be an intern hitting private on the wrong video. But as pointed out by Twitter account @Pory_Leaks, who spotted the information, Nintendo privated the Nintendo Switch Lite trailer just days before the announcement of the Nintendo Switch OLED.
