Tetris 99 now becomes playable again for those that don’t want to get murdered by the skilled players playing online thanks to an offline mode that lets you play against CPU players.
The ‘Big Block’ season pass is available for $15 AUD and gives you access to a CPU battler mode where you vs 98 computer players. And also a ‘marathon’ mode which is simply basic Tetris and described as ‘clear the most lines and score big.’
Yes, it’s paid DLC for the free Tetris 99 but paying for this DLC will give you access to the offline modes even without a Nintendo Online membership. Basically making Tetris 99 now a $15 purchasable offline game, a free (as long as you have an online membership) online title, or the best of both worlds for a price.
Another mode is coming with this ‘Big Block’ season pass in the future, but it is yet to be revealed. Maybe at Nintendo’s E3 Direct?
