Pretty much the entire reason the ‘share button’ exists on the DualSense controller is so you can post screenshots and videos from your PlayStation 4/5, and you’ll no longer be able to do that.
A message your PlayStation 5 this morning will tell you:
“As of November 15, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS4/PS5 and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS4/PS5 (or link to an X account do so).”
Although Sony doesn’t say why, the reason is, presumably, Elon Musk’s decision to continue making X/Twitter worse by charging companies to use the API, making things like the share function work.
You can still share your COD clips with your grandma on Facebook and share them on YouTube as well. But if you open the PlayStation app on your phone and let your clips/screenshots sync up, you can post them wherever you like (X included), just not from the console directly.
