Make sure your phone still has a good battery, as you’ll need a solid battery life for all the hours it’ll probably lose to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket—or maybe that’s just me to worry about.
The latest trailer explains the basics of the game, with the majority of it focused on the collecting and communal experience of showing off and helping friends complete their collections.
Once again, the ‘immersive’ cards are a highlight. These cards have deep effects when you tap a bunch of them and will send you flying into the artwork to discover more about what’s going on in and around that particular card.
You can open two free booster packs daily, one in the morning and one in the evening. Whether you can open both at night or during their time out is yet to be confirmed, but hopefully, it’s just a 24-hour period for two boosters.
The free implication also means there will be paid boosters, but any microtransaction costs for Pokémon TCG Pocket haven’t been revealed yet, either.
Players will also be able to participate in battles, though the rules and mechanics have been tweaked to enable a shorter and more friendly experience for mobile and on-the-go trainers.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is scheduled to release on October 31, 2024.
