Niantic has revealed that the upcoming Pokémon GO Fest will take place across the entire globe in an attempt to continue fighting COVID-19.

Pokémon GO Fest in 2019 took place in Chicago, Dortmund, and Yokohama with thousands of attendees showing up to a predetermined location to catch Pokémon and take part in special events as a community. 

With the event now going to be open for everyone, there are still several questions to be answered. What will the ticket cost be to enter? Will the usual exclusive Pokémon only available at GO Fest’s be catchable? 

No matter what the answers, it’s the right decision for Niantic to have made this a global event for now. 

Overall the developer has made many smart decisions to adapt their game — which is all about walking around in public — to work from home.
