Last week The Pokémon Company announced that Version 2.0 of Pokémon HOME would be coming soon and that patch is now live.

As of writing, the server is under maintenance, but I’ll update when it’s not and with any other small details and things I notice in the update.

Update: the servers spent what felt like forever in maintenance and it’s all live now. Claim your mystery gift Pokémon and check out the new Pokédexs.

This latest update brings many requested features, including the ability to interact with recent releases, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus

When you move a Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Arceus to another game or move a Pokémon caught in another game to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, those Pokémon will appear in a new type of Pokéball called ‘Strange Balls.’ This is because Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set far in the past of Pokémon history — and also probably because it’s an easy way to explain things.

You can check the condition of Pokémon transferred from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Pokémon Shining Pearl, as well as the effort levels of Pokémon transferred from Pokémon Legends: Arceus

When you transfer a Pokémon from either Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl for the first time, you’ll receive a Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup with Hidden Abilities as a Mystery Gift. And when you transfer a Pokémon for the first time from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you’ll receive a Rowlet, Cyndaquill and Oshawott with maximum effort levels as Mystery Gifts.

As for what the new rules are for what Pokémon HOME can be transferred in and out of Pokémon HOME, there’s an updated chart below.

Other changes in version 2.0 of Pokémon HOME are listed below:

  • New Pokédexs
Pokémon HOME only used the National Pokédex until this update, but now you can collect and view each game’s respective Pokédex. These new Pokédex will only currently register Pokémon in your boxes, so if you’ve moved something out or traded it after registering it to the National Dex, you’ll need to get it back to complete all the Pokédex entries.

  • Achievements
You can earn stickers to edit your profile by completing achievements in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME.

Are there any features or changes you think Pokémon HOME needs in the next update? Let me know in the comment section.
