It’s been a long time coming, but The Pokémon Company has finally released a new trailer filled with tidbits of information for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. A release date was also announced of November 18th for the Nintendo Switch.
As fans have been seeking for a long time, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is the first open-world RPG game in the series that will still contain all the key gameplay features you’ve come to know and love. Major new gameplay features shown in the trailer include a multiplayer component that will allow up to four players to adventure together.

For the first time in the series, the Pokémon Professor you talk to will differ depending on which game you’re playing. In Pokémon Scarlet, you’ll meet Professor Sada, and in Pokémon Violet, you’ll meet Professor Turo.
It looks like your friend in either version of the game will be Nemona, who loves to Pokémon battle in either game.
The legendary Pokémon of these games are Koraidon and Miraidon for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violent, respectively. They’re lizard/dragon looking creatures who seemed to be creating music; at least that’s how it seemed to me.
Below is all the Pokémon Company has released about them today:
“Koraidon is a Legendary Pokémon you can meet in Pokémon Scarlet, and Miraidon is a Legendary Pokémon you can meet in Pokémon Violet. These two Pokémon are said to have powers that far surpass those of other Pokémon, but details about Koraidon and Miraidon are still shrouded in mystery.”
Three more Pokémon were revealed in the trailer, with details on each below.
Pawmi is a mouse/electric Pokémon.
Lechonk is a hog/normal Pokémon.
Smoliv is an olive/grass/normal Pokémon.
A teaser for something else was shown at the end of the trailer with a Pokéball being thrown through what I think is ice. However, I’m not sure what it’s hinting at, so feel free to let me know.
Which version of the game do you think you’ll be playing when Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are released on November 18th? Let me know in the comment section below.
