Queenstown Is Netflix’s First Australian And New Zealand Series Filmed In New Zealand

Netflix has announced Queenstown, a new eight-episode series that marks the first Australian and New Zealand-commissioned series to be set and filmed in New Zealand.

Created by Chloe Stearns, Queenstown follows a privileged family and the people who work for them as power, loyalty and desire collide beneath the glamour of Queenstown’s luxury ski scene. Production is currently underway in Queenstown, with the series bringing together a cast led by Rufus Sewell, Frances O’Connor, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Te Kohe Tuhaka.

The series will be directed by Glendyn Ivin (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Penguin Bloom), who also serves as an executive producer, with Roseanne Liang (Avatar: The Last Airbender) directing episodes. Executive producers include Jodi Matterson, Libbie Doherty, Jeremy Platt and Erika North.

Netflix is yet to announce a release date for Queenstown.
