We have received a brand new trailer for Resident Evil, the upcoming look at Zach Cregger’s take on the iconic video game series, and it looks like it’s going to be one intense ride from start to finish.
Rather than retelling the events of the games, the film tells an original story centred on Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who finds himself caught in a terrifying fight for survival over the course of a single night as chaos and the zombie apocalypse happen around him.

Cregger, who previously directed Barbarian and Weapons, writes and directs the reboot of the movie series. Alongside Austin Abrams, the film stars Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser.
Resident Evil has also been filmed for IMAX, with Sony confirming the film will release in Australian cinemas on September 17, 2026.
