Second Extinction, the dinosaur game with Left 4 Dead vibes that was announced during Xbox’s Inside Xbox event earlier in the year is now turning to early access and launching next month.
The news come after a closed beta period was held for a select few players.
“The realization that this approach suits the community-driven nature of our game was a little late-in-the-day, but we are excited about how it will make Second Extinction the best possible experience. Early Access means that the original plan for a summer beta is now out the window – it would simply get in the way of our efforts to get to Early Access in the fall.”
Those that took part in the closed beta will now receive two skins as an apology from developer Systemic Reaction which will be provided to closed beta players when the game launches as an early access game next month.
-
A. Amir’s Track Star skin
-
B. Assault Rifle White Flame weapon skin
These are alongside the original incentives to recruit players into the closed beta — now a mailing list — using the developers ‘War Support’ program which rewards players with a forum avatar, unique nameplate, unique weapon skins and unique in-game emote.
