Single Player ‘Gwent’ Spin-Off Now Standalone Title
by Dylan Blight
Although the single-player campaign for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game was originally thought to be coming as an add-on to the already available multiplayer component that has been in Beta since 2017, developer CD Projekt Red has announced this is not the case.
The single-player portion will now be its own game called Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, which will apparently be a 30-hour RPG. Quite a long campaign for a card-card if true
Fans of the Witcher 3 have been clamouring for the single-player aspect of the Gwent card game first introduced within the Witcher 3 game. Although Gwent has become a high-paying esport and competition game, it has had it’s own issues with players, let alone leaving those clamouring for a solo experience.
This news came from CD Projekt Red’s financial briefing which you can watch below if you’re interested.
