Sniper Elite VR from developer Rebellion has been officially revealed with a gameplay trailer and it looks to include everything fans of the franchise would want.

Although not direct-feed gameplay, or even a game trailer per-say, the first footage of Sniper Elite VR is revealed with the developers explaining some of the mechanics of the game.

You’ll have free movement, although in the trailer they’re seen using the more comfortable teleportation technique. This means you’ll presumably be able to look for a good spot to take down your target and Sniper Elite VR will still hold onto what makes the core games so interesting.

In the video, Rebellion explains you can use PS4 Move controllers, a DualShock or an Aim Controller which is what I’d guess is the preferred way to play a game like this. The game is also coming to Oculus Rift and Steam VR platforms as well.

It’s of course hard to tell if the shooting feels good just by this video, but if it’s pulled off well I can imagine playing with the Aim Controller will feel really good.

Of course, Sniper Elite games are kinda known for their slow-motion x-ray bullet cams that show you the kill shot of your foes and the system has been fully rebuilt to work in VR which is exciting.

Check out the full video below where you can hear more about the game as well as see the gameplay captured off-screen.

There isn’t a release date for Sniper Elite VR yet but it teased as ‘coming soon’, which hopefully is true. Let us know if you’re looking forward to giving this a shot when it releases in the comments below.
